Captain SargonaSargona's forehead is covered in sweat, and his expensive jacket is mottled with burn marks. His hands are in constant movement as he works the controls for the warp engine. "So, von Valancius, you think you have won? Think again — I still have one last card to play."

Solomorne"The Heartless has lost its Geller field, Sargona. A warp jump without it would be worse than death. Even you are not crazy enough to—"

Captain Sargona"WANT TO FIND OUT?" Sargona's tongue darts out to wet his lips, and his voice drops from a shout to a whisper: "What's that thing you lawmen always say — any last words?"

YOU"Your little ploys won't stop me from getting my recaf!"

Captain Sargona"What is it with you and recaf?" For a moment, it looks like Sargona is about to explode, but then, with visible effort, he reins himself in. "If I survive today, I swear I'll see you supplied with recaf for the rest of your life — I'll boil you in it!"

Captain Sargona"What? Questions? What in the void are you talking about?" Palpable hysteria breaks through Sargona's voice, but he does not pull the lever just yet.

YOU"Who helped you to steal the tithe? It could not have been Governor Medineh."

Captain SargonaSargona flinches as if from a blow. His soft whisper takes on a sinister note: "Both of us are going to die here, von Valancius, but even so, I would rather not say. You have no idea who you are up against."
