Entry point 2 of 13
Pasqal"The prerogative of oversight to ensure compliance with the rites is accepted. I request full access to Magos Februs's research. Under these conditions, cooperation will be deemed productive and feasible."
EogunnEogunn nods reluctantly. "The requirement is satisfactory. I am prepared to share my knowledge and methods with Magos Haneumann, provided this allows me to continue my experiments and convince him of the purity of my thoughts and deeds. Nuncius will bear witness to this tech-oath."
PriestThe Tech-Priests bow and depart together, conversing quietly in Lingua-Technis. It is uncertain how long this fragile peace between them will last, but there is hope that their collaboration will bear fruit.
Entry point 3 of 13
Pasqal"I refuse." Pasqal raises a mechadendrite in warning. "This decision leads to an irresolvable conflict. Cooperation is impossible."
Eogunn"Out of the question." Eogunn shakes his head. "The outcome of the proposed cooperation is predetermined, and it is most unfavourable, Rogue Trader."
YOU"Eogunn, your experiments are indeed dangerous. Henceforth, you shall not conduct them outside the laboratory."
EogunnEogunn flares with indignation, poised to launch into an impassioned tirade... but abruptly catches himself, instead gazing dejectedly at the servo-skull. "Very well, Rogue Trader. I will submit to your decision. You are right, Nuncius. Scaling unproven solutions could lead to unfortunate consequences."
Pasqal"I am registering a high level of sound judgement in the stated decision." Pasqal bows almost imperceptibly. "The consequences of Genetor Februs's malfunction and irrelevant decisions will be rectified immediately, and the functioning of the ship's machine spirits will be optimised according to sacred protocols."
YOU"Pasqal, do not hinder Eogunn in his research."
PasqalSeveral indignant bursts of binharic chatter precede Pasqal's response. "Directive acknowledged, Lord Captain."
Eogunn"I am afraid you will have to accept the status quo, esteemed colleague." Eogunn makes no effort to conceal the smugness in his voice. "Thank you for your agreement, Rogue Trader. I will immediately resume my work of implementing the formula in the remaining servitors."
YOU"Pasqal, you will oversee the righteousness of Eogunn's experiments. Together, you will stabilise and improve the servitors."
YOU"I am not able to resolve your dispute, for I lack sufficient knowledge of the Machine God's mysteries."
PriestThe vox-emitters on both Tech-Priests emit brief binharic arias, signifying the end of the conversation. Pasqal and Eogunn depart swiftly, avoiding any interaction with one another.

Entry point 13 of 13
PriestThe very air between the two Tech-Priests seems to crackle with tension. The glares Eogunn and Pasqal exchange could melt steel.
PasqalPasqal straightens up more than usual, as if trying to match the height of his hovering opponent. "Lord Captain, as an ordained Magos, I bear witness against Genetor Extremis Eogunn Februs. He conducts research that negatively impacts the productivity of the holy rites of servitor maintenance and distorts the visage of the Machine God's creations. Such blasphemy tramples the tenets of faith and may lead to critically unpredictable consequences."
Eogunn"Out of respect for Magos Haneumann, I will not respond to such a blatant provocation with aggression. That would be counterproductive. However, I would note that my esteemed colleague is fundamentally mistaken in his interpretation of my actions. I have followed the Quest for Knowledge, serving the Machine God as befits a Genetor Extremis. No blasphemy against His commandments has been committed, as Nuncius can attest."
PriestThe servo-skull remains silent, unwilling to enter the argument.
YOU"I believe the least-biased participant should speak first. Nuncius?"
PriestThe servo-skull tactfully remains silent, granting the opposing parties complete freedom to express their views.
Eogunn"Nuncius, the issue of productive integration of augmetics into the living flesh of a host is the cornerstone of all my endeavours!" Eogunn falls silent for a few seconds, as if processing his interlocutor's response. "I am disappointed by your attempts to remain neutral in this debate."
YOU"I believe the least-biased participant should speak first. Nuncius?"continues where this line first appears above
YOU"I see you are consumed with anger, but I do not understand why. Kindly explain yourselves."
Pasqal"Genetor Extremis Februs was summoned to pacify a group of frenzied servitors. Given his rank and presumed breadth of knowledge, the risk of disruption to the sacred rites was deemed minimal. However, the Genetor exceeded his remit and performed rites on several servitors that do not conform to the paradigm of the Cult Mechanicus, replacing some of their blessed implants with organic matter."
Eogunn"I do not deny my actions, Rogue Trader. Indeed, I have introduced several experimental modifications to the servitors' construction, modifications that increase their productivity and task efficiency. But does this not enhance their utility? The essence of Magos Haneumann's accusations eludes me."
YOU"Pasqal, what makes Eogunn's experiments so dangerous?"
Pasqal"Their very nature is blasphemous through committing the heresy of invention. Genetor Februs was supposed to completely eliminate the source of the malign code that had infiltrated the servitors' neural implants. Instead, he altered their mortal flesh in such a way that it is no longer subject to the Machine God's imperatives as transmitted by the implants."
Pasqal"The operational stability of the resulting modified servitors cannot be prognosticated. The ship's machine spirits may find themselves defenceless and fall victim to entropy, which would begin to multiply within the computational cycle."
EogunnEogunn raises a finger in a didactic manner. "My intervention did not violate the protocols of servitorisation. Their minds still follow the machine algorithms. No heresy has been committed. Colleague, you are overly accustomed to relying upon the cold orderliness of the Ferrum Sanctum and you perceive organic matter as something mutable and unreliable. Yet the living cell is one of the most perfect and stable aggregates created by the Omnissiah."
EogunnAfter a brief pause, Eogunn adds, addressing the servo-skull, "Yes, Nuncius, bone tissue is no less vital and stable, but it would have been less convincing in this particular case."
YOU"Pasqal, what makes Eogunn's experiments so dangerous?"continues where this line first appears above
YOU"Eogunn, why did you conduct this experiment outside the laboratory?"
Eogunn"A reasonable question, Rogue Trader, and I believe the answer will prove most satisfactory. After the Triasomata reconstruction , I spent considerable time drawing conclusions from it. The fruit of my labours is a formula for bionic synergy that enhances the efficiency of augmetic integration with the host."
Eogunn"Is productive efficiency not the highest value for a servant of the Omnissiah? Servitor malfunctions will occur less frequently, shorter maintenance times will be required, and the labours of the technomats will be optimised. The utility of such a solution is indisputable and therefore requires no preliminary investigation."
Pasqal"This statement is false. Efficiency is a consequence of observing proper rites, not a cause for worship. The rejection of standardised methods of service in the pursuit of increased productivity is a Category Five blasphemy. Optimising the labour of technomats is not the prerogative of a Genetor Extremis. Each serves according to their function." Magos Haneumann's visor flashes red for a fraction of a second. "This alone is an incontrovertible fact."

YOU"If you call each other colleagues, why do you not work together?"
Eogunn"Is that a rhetorical question?" The alembic on Eogunn's shoulder hisses, releasing a cloud of acrid vapour. "No, I see that you truly wish to hear the answer. Each follows their own path to knowledge, comprehending existence through the wisdom of the Omnissiah. My path and that of Magos Haneumann diverged at the very beginning."
Pasqal"Unthinkable." Pasqal's visor flashes crimson. "I assess collaboration with Genetor Februs to be counterproductive. His willingness to distort dogma in order to justify his own flaws borders dangerously on heresy."

PriestBoth Tech-Priests turn toward the servo-skull, which has not uttered a single word. Pasqal glares malevolently while Eogunn opens his mouth to object, then thinks better of it.
