Entry point 1 of 3
VoigtvirIt is astonishing that the grievous injuries inflicted by the tormentors did not kill Laria instantly. The cruelty with which her body has been mutilated is horrifying. Most of her bones are broken, her torso has been flayed alive, and each of her vital organs bears crudely inflicted lacerations. What was done to her was not torture but slow execution. Even the most skilled medicae could not save her here and now.
YOU"Laria, what happened?"
Voigtvir"I... broke free, [Name]. When the bombardment began, the xenos no longer had time for me. I fled into the galleries, further and further, searching for a way to escape this place, but..." Laria is seized by a coughing fit and spits out several bloody clots. "I did not reckon on the other fugitives here. The servants of the Archenemy, the ones you destroyed, they caught me. The results you can see for yourself."

YOU"Hold on. Help is here now."
VoigtvirLaria gives you the faintest of nods and closes her eyes. The only sign that she still lives is the rasping gurgle of her pierced lungs in their stubborn struggle to draw breath.
YOU[Examine the wounded woman]
YOU[Bandage Laria's wounds]
VoigtvirThe blood instantly soaks through the bandages, staining them a deep crimson. Contrary to expectation, the bleeding does not stop — the viscous fluid continues to ooze from beneath the dressings. Laria pushes your hand aside. "Leave it. Save the medicae supplies for your people. Wasting them on me is... pointless."

YOU"I am sorry, Seberian."
Seberian"May Trazyn and his treasures be cursed." Seberian's voice is hollow with grief. The ancestor forces his back straight, attempting to project at least a semblance of confidence. "What am I to do, [Name]? I cannot leave my true daughter here. But..." He falls silent, leaving you to grasp what he cannot give voice to.
YOU"We could arrange an evacuation..."
Seberian"Don't try to give me false hopes, my heir. Evacuation is impossible, you know this as well as I." A surge of the Motive Force flashes in Seberian's bionic eye and a drop of machine oil seeps from the juncture where the Ferrum Sanctum meets living flesh. "Futile efforts only hasten the inevitable." He steps toward Laria and gently lifts her.
VoigtvirLaria's voice grows weaker and quieter with each passing second. "I dreamed for so long of escaping the clutches of that filth. Five centuries... of captivity. And now, at last, that moment has come." Her voice drops to a barely audible whisper. "I am journeying to the cold stars, Father. Together with you." The last spark of life leaves the wounded woman's eyes. In complete silence, Seberian reaches out his hand and closes the eyelids on his daughter's still face.
SeberianLong moments pass before Seberian moves again. A rough, almost growling, command issues from the vox-grille: "Arch-Militant, soldiers, remain here and secure our rear. Follow me, my heir. It is time for the foul xenos Trazyn to answer for the wicked schemes he has wrought against our house."
YOU[Finish Laria] "God-Emperor, may Your mercy grace the dying."
Seberian"Wait!" But contrary to his command, Seberian hesitates, gazing helplessly at his daughter. "Grant me a few moments to bid farewell, [Name]! Oh, how cruel the God-Emperor is in His mercy, and how negligent in His protection..."
VoigtvirLaria meets death with a smile of relief and gratitude. Seberian, standing beside you, turns away but does not hinder the Emperor's Mercy that you bestow.

YOU[Administer pain relief] "I can only ease her suffering."
Voigtvir"I can't go on, Father." Laria looks not at you, but at Seberian. "Allow me to die with dignity." She extends her hand, positioning it beneath the injector, and closes her eyes.
SeberianSeberian watches in silence as his daughter loses consciousness, stupefied by the potent medicaments. A surge of the Motive Force flashes in his bionic eye, and a drop of machine oil seeps from the juncture where the Ferrum Sanctum meets living flesh.

YOU"The decision is yours, Seberian."
SeberianSeberian gently lifts the wounded woman, gazing into the gaunt face of his daughter. "Then I wish to bid her farewell, [Name]."

YOU[Address Eogunn] "Manipulus, can you save her?"
EogunnEogunn sets to his examination with focused intensity. His mechadendrites rise into the air, bristling with countless auspexes, injectors, and vials. Injector needles plunge into Laria's gaping wounds, and her breathing eases slightly. "I regret to say this, Rogue Trader, but I am powerless here. All I can do is ease the patient's final moments before she passes into oblivion. My skills are sufficient to replace damaged organs with Ferrum Sanctum, but this is simply impossible in field conditions."

YOU[Address your Seneschal] "Abelard, assist Lady Voigtvir."
AbelardMurmuring a short prayer under his breath, Abelard opens his chirurgeon's kit and bends over the prone figure, but after a minute he shakes his head sharply. "Forgive me, Your Lordship/Ladyship, but all my experience is not enough to help with such wounds. A whole host of chirurgeons and their assistants would be needed to heal these injuries. All we can do is pray to the God-Emperor that He grant Laria a dignified death."

Entry point 2 of 3
VoigtvirWhen you touch the endless bloody wound that the entirety of Laria's body below the neck has become, she makes a muffled groan through her teeth, and for a few seconds her breathing stops. It seems the pain from the torture alone is so intense that any examination could bring about instant death from shock. Yet life still flickers within her, which means a chance to save her remains, however faint.

Entry point 3 of 3
VoigtvirNear an overturned Drukhari aircraft, a woman is curled up, desperately trying to stop the blood gushing from the terrible wounds on her body. She barely has the strength to lift her head as you approach. Laria Voigtvir smiles with greyish lips upon seeing you and Seberian. "Father. You came. You returned after all."
SeberianThe pupil of Seberian's organic eye dilates to its utmost, almost filling the iris. Seberian leans over the wounded woman, gripping the hilt of his newly recovered sword with such force that the components of his bionic arm howl with the strain. His very posture speaks of the deepest despair.
