GovernorYrliet lowers her weapon, but her shoulders remain tense. She finally catches her breath, shaking her hair out of her face in a fluid motion, and looks at you.
Governor"You have done your duty, elantach. From now on, the Lilaethan has hope for the future — a future without Sai'lanthresh and her followers. This world has yet to be cleansed, but there is a time for everything. Now is the time to thank you." Yrliet bows her head slightly.
YOU"I hope that's the last I'll hear about cultists on Janus."
Governor"You are hoping in vain. The seeds these spawn leave behind may sprout in a hundred years — in other people and other deeds. I pray that I am wrong."
YOU"I will most likely return to Janus in the future. I must keep an eye on my worlds."
GovernorYrliet nods pensively.
GovernorYrliet gives you a long, studying look. "Wait, elantach. Before you leave these forests forever... Take me with you. To the distant suns. The tale of the Children of Asuryan on the Lilaethan is coming to an end, but somewhere out there, among the cold stars of the cosmos that your kind calls the Expanse, there are others. Deprived of home. Lost. Suffering..." Yrliet shuts her eyes, and grief twists her finely sculpted features.
Governor"We can help one another, elantach. You will be my wings, and I your wounding spear. And your voice of reason, should you encounter my kin. If that is still not enough..." Yrliet thinks for a moment and continues carefully. "I promise you a wondrous reward, elantach. The treasures of my world hidden in the vastness of space in exchange for the rescue of my kin. If you remain true to your word and do not go back on our covenant."
YOU"Why should I even be concerned with the affairs of xenos?"
Governor"Just as the Children of Asuryan settled this world you consider yours, my kin have flooded this region of space. Desperately trying to survive, they will seek shelter in your demesne, perhaps even raiding mon-keigh vessels for supplies and sustenance. I do not wish such a fate for any of my kind, just as I hope you do not wish it for your subjects."

YOU"I have always wanted to add a xenos to my retinue! Welcome, welcome."
Governor"Well, elantach... [Name], yes? I am tired of titles and designations — my own and others'. Since your path lies beyond the limits of the Lilaethan, I will go with you — to search for others of my kind scattered among the stars. Perhaps they will greet me more warmly than this brood."

Idira"Yeah, yeah, tracking down your kin... and also, there'll be somebody on the ship who scares the crap out of everyone even more than I do."
Jae"Oh, shereen... I pray to the Exalted One that your good heart is not broken by the black ungratefulness of those you welcome into your retinue. My only consolation is that this xenos is still a little different from the damned scum that plague Humanity in the Koronus Expanse."
Kibellah"It is not your place to deem anyone in the Domin's retinue unworthy, Vil'Jae." Kibellah turns to you and bows her head slightly. "Your decisions are inscrutable, Domin, but nevertheless, your shadow will keep a vigilant eye on the unclean xenos from now on."
Heinrix"Xenos in the retinue of a Rogue Trader is an acceptable precedent. Although highly undesirable and fraught with danger."
Governor"If you truly cared for the elantach, you wouldn't be following him/her, you would have thrown yourself into the abyss long ago. You are a canker, and the jaws of Sai'lanthresh yawn wide within you. Don't talk to me about dangers, you, a mon-keigh who has no notion of what he is playing with!"
Solomorne"The Warrant does permit taking xenos servants, but I had hoped never to witness anyone actually invoke this... unique right."
Governor"And remember your promise, elantach. When we leave the Lilaethan, it will be to go to the distant stars. Muaran saw them in his visions, and they sang mournful songs about the fate of my people. And I will fight beside you until the song of the stars turns into a funeral lament."
YOU"It is an honour to welcome an Aeldari wanderer into my ranks."
GovernorThe Aeldari shifts slightly and lowers her head. A ghost of a smile appears on her lips. "My heart sings at the thought of the Lilaethan's approaching liberation... but we must not rest while Sai'lanthresh's servants still mar the face of the Maiden World."

YOU"You do not lack for boldness. Even your request is worded not as a plea but a treaty. But I like it, so we have a deal."

YOU"I am leaving Janus. And I hope never to see you or your brethren ever again."
GovernorYrliet's lips twist into a bitter smile. "I think that would be best. For you, mon-keigh. Farewell."
YOU"Xenos do not belong in a Rogue Trader's retinue."
GovernorYrliet purses her thin lips. "So be it."

YOU"So, the heretic is dead. Now what?"
Governor"There's no doubt that our visit has... stirred up the inhabitants of this place. But it is unlikely that their devotion to She Who Thirsts will outweigh their fear of your authority — whatever it is based on in your society. You have nothing to fear."

YOU"Are you trying to say that it's open season on humans for Aeldari now?"
Governor"Only if you consider the servants of She Who Thirsts to be human... I hope not. The only thing those abominations deserve is death and burning."

Heinrix"I doubt xenos are capable of eliminating heresy on the planet, [Name]. But in a situation with limited resources... Throne preserve me if I ever repeat this sentiment, but... the Aeldari's assistance is the best we can hope for in the short term. Barring a radical solution to the problem."
